Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) include certain man-made chemicals produced in the manufacture of paints, pharmaceuticals, and refrigerants. Typically, VOCs are industrial solvents, fuel oxygenates, or byproducts of chlorination in water treatment, such as chloroform, and are often found as groundwater contaminants. Agilent supplies a number of solutions for VOC analysis, including GC/MS systems and headspace analyzers, that help meet the requirements of regulated methods such as EPA 8260, 524, and 624.
